Introducing Lila

I get so many wonderful emails from people who are fans of my audio books and often they express concern that I have fallen off the face of the earth as far as my website and audio books are concerned.  So this is a quick post to let you all know that I am just fine.  Better than fine, even.  I'm a mama to this beauty:

Lila Eleanor was born on December 27th, 2009 at 2:43 pm. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. I can't believe she almost seven months old already!

So, for those who were wondering, I'm great and life is good. Thanks for the kind emails and comments. I don't have any plans to record any more audio books in the near future but I imagine I will someday. For the time being, Lila keeps me pretty busy.  I did recently switch my website from WordPress to Drupal and many of my old posts have funky formatting but I'm slowly working on fixing them.

Crazy Peas (and this week in the garden)

So on Tuesday of last week they were this tall:

Last Week In the Garden

I took a bunch of pics last week of the garden and yard. They aren't fabulous - it was cloudy and I'm thinking I'm due for a camera upgrade at some point soon - but you get the picture! Purple irises ready to bloom:

Some Winter Pictures

Rather than try to catch up on several months of blogging that I just didn't get to, I thought I'd post a few pictures. Tasha loves the snow.

Spring has Sprung, the Kitchen Garden is Begun

I'm told by a couple of my aunts who know about such things that these are flowering cherry trees:

Knitting Book Review

I'm enjoying using GoodReads to keep track of books and thought I'd try out their tool to blog a review I just wrote... The Friday Night Knitting Club

Colorways Inspired by Anne of Green Gables

This was the colorway that started my Anne of Green Gables colorways, the Lake of Shining Waters:

Introducing Color Essence

Lately I'm hooked on spinning. I first started more than a year ago and I'd spin off and on but the last couple months I've been doing a lot of it. Here are some pictures of my handspun yarn and projects knit from handspun:

Photographer's Assistant

So yesterday was a lovely sunny late afternoon and I noticed that my Ravelry page was lacking pictures for a bunch of projects so I gathered a bunch of stuff together and got my camera and went out to the front porch. Tasha came with me since she comes with me everywhere and I put her on the lead we have out front. I started the Wallis Cardigan way back on our honeymoon before getting sidelined with other projects but I plan to finish it up soon.

Anne of Green Gables and Life in General

Well, it only took me two years but I have finished recording Anne of Green Gables!  It's a bit embarrassing that it took me so long but I've had a busy two years with meeting Stephen, finishing my master's degree, battling Meniere's Disease, getting engaged and married, and buying a house.  I feel somehow like I became an adult in the last two years if that makes sense.
